About this resource

Make-A-Face Conversation Cards were created to support children as they notice, interpret, and talk about facial expressions in a calm, accessible way.

Each card features a different expressive face, inviting children to look closely, describe what they see, and share ideas about feelings, thoughts, and reactions. The focus is not on naming emotions correctly, but on encouraging observation, perspective-taking, and conversation.

This resource works well in therapy rooms, classrooms, and homes, and can be used flexibly alongside play, stories, or everyday interactions.
